Connected on Sunday afternoon. First hot water in the A-frame.

It sounds like a small thing. It isn’t. Hot water in the A-frame means the shower is complete, the kitchen sink is usable year-round, and the A-frame works as a proper autonomous space — not just a beautiful structure, but somewhere you can actually live.

We ran the pipe under the stone wall, around the mango roots (still intact, Anaïs confirmed), and up through the floor into the bathroom wall. Two compression fittings, a valve, and it was done.

Bolo turned the tap on. Hot water came out. Léon looked unimpressed. Samsam didn’t care either way.

That’s what three years of building something by hand feels like at the end of a Sunday — quiet satisfaction, slightly sore arms, and already thinking about what’s next.

The list is getting shorter.
