I am away at the moment, and Anaïs is looking after the bookings on her own. She prepares the cabin, welcomes the guests and makes sure everything is ready. The bed is made, the rum is on the tray, and there is always too much coffee rather than too little.

This week, Agathe, Bertrand and Héloïse left. They finished the rum, then left this note on the tray:

Dear hosts,

A huge thank you for this wonderful place you share with us! We truly felt all the love you put into this construction and into the care of this magnificent garden.

Bravo for your talent, which let us rest and appreciate the beauty of the place.

À bientôt, Agathe, Bertrand and Héloïse.

The garden was not always peaceful while we were building it. We argued about misplaced tools, broken plants and small things that seemed important at the time. That is part of making a place together.

Our guests do not see those moments. They see the cabin, the garden and the care that went into them.

We kept the note on the tray.

À bientôt, as they say.
